Onset of March Brings One to Four Feet of New Snow to Colorado, Utah and Lake Tahoe Regions; Western Storm Patterns Deliver Unprecedented Snow Conditions for Spring Skiers

Eagle/Summit County, CO, Park City, UT, Lake Tahoe, CA/NV - Simultaneous snow storms spanning the western U.S. have added one to four feet of fresh snow within one week. Epic Pass holders are a step ahead and free to move about the country to savor more than a foot of fresh powder at Colorado’s Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, and Keystone resorts, a foot of new snow at Utah’s Park City Mountain, and two to four feet of new snow at the Lake Tahoe region’s Heavenly, Northstar California and Kirkwood resorts. Additional snow and storm patterns are forecast throughout each of the three regions in the approaching week.

Vail Resorts Launches Unprecedented New Program Offering Free Skiing and Riding for All K-5 School Kids

Skiing and riding at Vail Resorts’ Colorado mountains just got even more accessible for families with a value and new level of accessibility unmatched and previously unavailable anywhere. Vail Resorts announced today that it has re-imagined its program for fifth and sixth graders, formerly known as School of Shred, to now include all kindergarten through fifth graders. Renamed “Epic SchoolKids Colorado Pack”, the program provides four days of free skiing and riding at each of the best resorts in their backyard – Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Keystone. In addition to four free days, Epic SchoolKids also get the opportunity to hone their skills at the ivy league of ski schools with a free full-day beginner lesson and equipment rentals at Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge or Keystone in the month of January, outside of holiday periods, as part of Learn to Ski & Ride Month.

Vail Resorts to Acquire Perisher, the Largest Mountain Resort in Australia

Vail Resorts, Inc. (NYSE: MTN) today announced that the Company has agreed to acquire its first international mountain resort, Perisher Ski Resort (“Perisher”) in New South Wales, Australia, for total cash consideration of AU$176.6 million (approximately US$136 million), subject to certain adjustments. Perisher is the largest and most visited ski resort in Australia, and is well-positioned with access to the country’s largest cities, including Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Canberra and Brisbane. Perisher is also the largest ski resort in the Southern Hemisphere. The acquisition is expected to close in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2015 following the satisfaction of certain conditions, including approval by the New South Wales Government under the long-term lease and license noted below.
